Delta Game Emulator
Recommended for iPhone and iPad. Delta supports Game Boy Advance games and importing your own .gba files, plus regular saves, save states and controller support.
- Install Delta on your iPhone or iPad.
- Once ThunderYellow is publicly released, use our game installer and save the finished
.gba in Files.
- In Delta, import your saved ThunderYellow game. Start a new save or restore a compatible regular in-game save.
Save states from different game builds are not necessarily compatible. Back up your saves first.

Pizza Boy A Basic
Recommended for Android. Pizza Boy A Basic is a Game Boy Advance emulator available on Google Play. It doesn't include commercial games, so you'll use the ThunderYellow file you generate yourself.
- Install Pizza Boy A Basic from Google Play (or RetroArch from its official website).
- Once the first release is live, use our game installer and save the completed
.gba in your Downloads folder.
- In your Android emulator, browse to the downloaded
.gba and open ThunderYellow.
RetroArch is more configurable and uses a separate GBA core. The official RetroArch website warns that its Google Play build is outdated.

Where to get the right LeafGreen file
ThunderYellow's first public installer is designed for the exact original Pokémon LeafGreen (USA), Rev 1 (also called 1.1). A physical cartridge is one legitimate route to obtaining your own copy; a cartridge reader can create a personal game backup on a computer. We do not link to unauthorized ROM-download sites.
01 / SOURCE YOUR CARTRIDGE
Find an authentic LeafGreen cartridge
Explore secondhand listings for an original US Pokémon LeafGreen Game Boy Advance cartridge. Confirm authenticity, seller terms and cartridge condition before purchasing.
Browse cartridge listings ↗
These are third-party reseller listings, not Nintendo's store. Buying a cartridge does not guarantee it is the required Rev 1; verify your exact backup below.
02 / CREATE YOUR OWN BACKUP
Back up your cartridge to .gba
The GB Operator hardware and Epilogue Playback app can make personal backups of Game Boy Advance cartridges to your computer, including game data. Transfer the resulting .gba to your phone's Files or Downloads.
See GB Operator backup guide ↗
Requires compatible cartridge-reading hardware and a Windows, macOS or Linux computer. Rules about copying games vary by location; check local law.
03 / VERIFY THE RIGHT VERSION
Check the exact ROM
Use our installer to verify your own original .gba locally before the release. A similar filename alone does not confirm compatibility; a different region or revision is not supported.

The supported original game is Pokémon LeafGreen (USA) Rev 1 / 1.1, not FireRed, LeafGreen Rev 0 or an arbitrary modified copy.

A note about ROM downloads
Whether you are using Delta, Pizza Boy A Basic, or another GBA emulator, please review this before choosing a game file.
ROM use & legal disclaimer: Emulators may technically load ROM files obtained from different sources, but that does not mean every download is authorized. ThunderYellow does not provide, link to, or endorse unauthorized copies of commercial games. We recommend using a lawfully obtained original Game Boy Advance cartridge and making your own personal backup where permitted by applicable law. Rules vary by location; you are responsible for ensuring you have permission to use the game file you select.
